Commemoration Days
These days are the days on which cruel massacres happened involving Aboriginal people.
May 27 Mount Dispersion Day (Major Mitchell’s party kills at least 15 Aboriginal people near Euston, 1836)
June 10 Myall Creek Day (convicts kill at least 28 Aboriginal people in northern NSW, 1838; 7 murderers are hanged)
July 11 Copper Kettle Day (Major Mitchell’s party kills at least 2 Aboriginal people at Menindee, 1835)
August 27 Rufus River Day (police kill at least 30 Aboriginal people at Lake Victoria near Wentworth,1841)
